Autumn In The Park

Autumn In The Park
12"H x 16"W
Autumn is my favorite season to paint, especially when I can paint en plein air, or outdoors on location. The late afternoon sun cast beautiful shadows in this little park near Lexington, Kentucky.

Storm Over the Bluegrass
16"H x 20"W
Driving through Lexington, Kentucky, on a stormy January day, I saw the grass in a horse farm paddock lit up by a burst of sunlight breaking through the clouds. The colors were intense, brilliant, and irresistible. I had to paint this landscape with its contrast of bright sunlight and cool clouds.

Cathedral

Cathedral
14"H x 11"W

Field In Bloom

Field In Bloom
18"H x 24"W
One of the most beautiful things, to me, is the sight of wildflowers in a summer meadow. I just had to paint this field near my sister's home in Lebanon, Ohio. The composition is a nod to one of my favorite painters, George Inness.

Kentucky Dawn

Kentucky Dawn
24"H x 36"W
On a painting trip to Kentucky, I decided to get an early start one morning but I didn't know how early. I stepped out of my motel room to find a perfect landscape waiting on my doorstep. Who needs breakfast when the opportunity to paint an exquisite daybreak is right there and will only last a moment?
